If you decide to file a Utility Patent, decide whether you will file a provisional patent or non-provisional patent. A provisional patent are simpler and based around a description of your idea or invention. A non-provisional patent is a more full application with descriptions, drawings, oaths, statements etc. After filing a provisional patent you will need to file a non-provisional patent as well. File the appropriate type of patent application.
