How Do You Patch A Terrazzo Floor?

0

Inevitably, your terrazzo floor will suffer some mishap, like a hard object that is dropped on it, chipping one of the pieces, or little sections wearing away from foot traffic. Don’t worry: you can patch a terrazzo floor and restore it to its former beauty. Remove any of the sealer that is on your terrazzo floor prior to patching it. This will allow you to penetrate down into the pores of the rock so the patch will hold. Clean the section where you have removed the sealer with a cleaner that is neutral, and will not stain the natural finish of the terrazzo floor. Use either a polyester resin with color or a patch mix that’s designed for terrazzo. If the patch contains some marble chips, that will add to the effect. Grind or even hone the terrazzo if a simple patch will not do. You will have to re-grout and polish the terrazzo afterward, then reapply the sealer.
