How Do You Pass A Teacher Evaluation?
This is the first in a series of articles on teacher evaluation. As a teacher who has worked in many systems in North America, it has occurred to me that evaluations are subject to subjectivity, provincialism in politics, and pure abuse of power. Indeed they can be challenging and trying. But in today’s job market, it is essential that you pass your teacher evaluations if you want to keep your job. This article will mainly discuss what you need to do in the first thirteen minutes of time and is based mainly on middle school instruction. Lesson delivery, classroom management and student/teacher interaction will be stressed. You need to follow a series of procedures to be successful. I feel that if you follow this advice and you need not undergo any discrimination, you will pass in your district. Have your lesson plans available on your desk. Have a back up plan should you be relying on technology. Make a copy of your seating plans and put a plastic sleeve on them. Use an erasable marker
