To do this to a flash drive, which is a compact storage device for computers, you have to modify the drive with BootIt and then partition it as you would a standard hard drive. Download and install BootIt, a program that will change the structure of your flash drive (see Resources). Insert the flash drive into an open USB port. Open BootIt. Click the “Flip Removable Bit” button. This will cause Windows to recognize the flash drive as a fixed disk instead of a removable disk. Eject the flash drive and re-insert it into the USB port. Click “Start,” followed by “Run.” Here, type in “diskmgmt.msc”. This will lead you to Disk Management. Locate your flash drive in the list of drives.
