How Do You Participate In A Relay For Life Luminaria Ceremony?
The American Cancer Society sponsors Relay for Life events each year to honor and remember those who have had cancer. As darkness falls on the night of Relay the Luminaria Ceremony will begin. This ceremony is the most touching part of Relay. Find out when and where your community Relay for Life event is being held. You can find the information by going to the links in the resources section at the bottom page. Contact the local event chair for information that might not be on the website. If you are a cancer survivor register with your local event as there are other meaningful events at Relay to honor cancer survivors. A survivor is a person who has been diagnosed with cancer; one day or 30 years. You begin “surviving” the moment you are diagnosed. Purchase and decorate a luminaria bag for $10 in honor or memory of a loved one with cancer.
