How Do You Paint With Melted Crayons?
Here’s a great craft to while away a rainy winter afternoon with the kids. Melt some old crayons in the oven and watch the kids make intricate designs with the colored wax. Just watch out for those little fingers with the hot wax! Have the kids peel the paper off some old crayons. Grease a muffin tin. Place different colored crayons in each muffin hole. Place the tin in a 400-degree oven until the crayons are melted. At the same time, boil some water on the stove. Pour boiling water into a rectangular cake pan. This is where you will place the muffin tin when it comes out of the oven, to keep the bottom of the muffin tin hot and the crayons hot and liquefied. Take the muffin tin out of the oven and set in the cake pan. Put a cotton swab in each color. Give each child a piece of paper and let him make designs on it with the cotton swabs dipped as paint brushes in the hot crayons.
