Basements are not just for storage anymore. Many homes are finishing their basements and using them as a family rec room, laundry room, workout room or play room. Once you get your basement finished you will need to paint it. You will need to start with the ceiling first. Remove any furniture that is in the basement and place a drop cloth over the floor. The likelihood that you will drip paint from the ceiling is high. These precautions will keep you from ruining anything you had in the room. Use painter’s tape to separate the wall edges from the ceiling. This will ensure that you get nice smooth even lines on the edges of your ceiling. Pour some interior latex house paint in a flat pan. This house paint most likely will be white for a ceiling, but feel free to use whatever color you want. Add an extension to your roller and then dip the roller in the paint. Get the paint on all sides of the roller and then wipe off any excess in a second flat pan. Begin rolling your roller on the ceil
