How Do You Paint Racing Stripes On A Car?
Racing stripes are perhaps the most popular customization that auto paint shops offer. Racing stripes can be thin or thick, they can come in pairs or trios or they can run along the side of your car or run down the middle of your hood. No matter what type of racing stripe you want for your car, the process is the same. Wash your car. Make sure all of the dirt and dust is removed from the shell of your car. Then lay out your racing stripes using painter’s tape. If you are painting multiple lines, then use a ruler or tape measure to ensure that your lines are evenly spaced. Prep the areas where your racing stripes are going to be painted by cleaning the stripes with a degreaser. Then apply a thin layer of primer to the spaces between your taped stripe outlines. Allow the primer to dry thoroughly. Fill your spray gun with the racing stripe paint color you want. If you are working with more than one colored stripe, then you will want to cover all areas that you don’t want the current color
