How Do You Paint Portraits In Oils?
“Hello, my name is Savago Lome. I’m an artist here in South Florida. Today I’m going to show you how to paint portraits in oil. Here’s our paint the outlining of the model. Let’s start with the forehead and the line of the eyes like a three Z. Then put too much color, like this. Try, try, try to make like easy shapes; the mouth, the lips. It looks like the cartoon but it should be like this; and the ear and the shape of the hair and this is pretty easy and now we can start over painting this portrait. Now let’s start with the shadows. Shadows can be the form and the coat. So we need to find these colors in the face and just paint; the shadow on the nose; actually fill the eye with coal, like this, here’s the shadow; and another one. So don’t blend the colors until the whole face with the black who is color. Now working a little bit on the hair; I just curve the shape of it; always black, black color.
