Over time, we tend to accumulate pieces of furniture from family members or yard sales or friends who don’t have room but cannot stand to toss it out. You need to start with a solid piece of furniture with a base that is ready to accept whatever color you put on it. This means you’ll have to do some prep work. Make sure your piece is clean by cleaning it with your favorite wood cleaner. After it drys, lightly sand it all over with a fine grit sand paper. Once you are satisfied with your work and there are no rough edges or splinters and the surface of the paint is roughed up evenly all over, wipe the furniture thoroughly with a cloth to remove dust.
