How Do You Paint An Ice Rink?

0

Ever wonder how ice rinks are painted? Here’s how. • Get the paint, or you can get vinyl markings to replace the paint and lay them down as lines, however you will still need a white paint for the floor, alternatively if you have a sand base rink you will need to first freeze the ice, than add a thin layer of water then add your ice paint. • Get tools and diagrams that you need to know the measurements and to make the lines straight. • After a few layers of ice are laid down with a sprinkler type sprayer/mister, paint the ice white. (DO NOT USE AN ICE RESURFACER) This will take several coats with the sprayer, hot water freezes the fastest but cold water will work if it’s all you have. • After the ice is painted white, put on more ice before you apply your paint/vinyl markings. If you paint both together on the same level they may leak into each other. Use the sprayer/myster to add water to the ice until it is of a suffecient level to bring out your ice resurfacer.
