Painting wood floors can be fast and easy with the right paint and tools. A simple preparation of the wood surface, followed by easy-to-apply floor paint, will give your wood floors a new look. You can select any color to complement your room’s design. With a little patience and attention to detail, wood floors can be painted with very little cleanup at the end. Sweep the floor and vacuum the corners to remove all of the dirt and loose particles from the floors. Mop the wood floor with a solution of 2 cups vinegar to 1 gallon of water—or an all-purpose floor cleaner—to prep the floor by removing grease, dirt and even slightly stripping the old finish on the floor. Let the floor completely dry before beginning to paint. Apply painter’s tape to the entire perimeter of the base of the room’s wall to prevent paint splatters on the wall.
