How Do You Paint A Garden Statuary?

0

Garden statuary adds that extra bit of flair to your yard, but a few years of standing in the rain can make them look a little worse for wear. Removing all the paint from a garden statue is a tough task, but if you are looking to paint a new one or simply refresh an old one, this is the way to get it done. Use the dry scrub brush to clean away any dust, debris or flaked paint from the statue, and then wipe it down with towels. Remove old paint by applying commercial paint remover and then scrubbing tough spots with a brush. Use the pressure cleaner and Simple Green to wash away the paint remover and any loose paint flakes. Apply the masonry or cement primer, and allow it to dry completely. Use outdoor paint, or boat paint, if the statue will be exposed to the elements. Let the statue dry completely. Apply a weather-proof or marine sealer, preferably one with UV protection.
