How Do You Pack For Backpacking Around Europe?
Packing for a backpacking trip around Europe can seem impossible when you’re confronted by piles of clothing, stacks of guidebooks, and various electronic items. To make sure that you can fit everything and still carry your backpack, remember that on a trip around Europe, less is always more. Pare down your clothing. Remember that you’ll be carrying everything on your back for weeks or months at a time. Do you really need four pairs of jeans? As a general rule, pack two pairs of jeans (you’ll always wear them), two skirts or pairs of shorts, a few warm-weather shirts, two sweaters or hoodies, and one rain jacket. Then, you’ll be able to layer for any weather. Bring one nice outfit for going out or going to the theater. And remember–if you’re not comfortable in it at home, you won’t suddenly want to wear it in Europe. Choose your shoes. Bring one pair of flip flops for hot days and the shower and one pair of shoes that can be used for walking and still look presentable in the evening.
