Gather all the loose Lego pieces together into one place. If any pieces are still organized by set (still together as a set), place these sets into extra large zipclose plastic bags, or clear plastic containers. Store the instructions in the individual bag/box with the pieces, or else collect all the instruction booklets together into one large folder. You might also put them into plastic page protectors and store them in a binder. For loose Legos that are no longer organized by set, you will sort the pieces by color. This makes it much easier to find the piece you need when you are searching for it in the future. You will need one box or bag for each color or pair of colors of Legos.
