In the recording studio there is often a vast library of audio samples. These samples can be anywhere from 1-second-long to 5 minutes, in some cases. It is a good practice to create an easy way to navigate these samples. I have stumbled upon a simple method for organizing your sample library using iTunes. Open the iTunes application. In much the same way we organize our songs and albums using playlists, we can apply a very similar method for organizing the samples. Once you have opened iTunes, locate the samples that you intend to import. Click “New Playlist” in the iTunes file menu. The playlist will immediately be created in the playlist window of the iTunes application interface. Now, name the playlist so that it corresponds with the sample folder you wish to add. For instance, the sample folder “Cat Meows” should have a playlist with the same name. Highlight the samples within the sample folder and drag them into the corresponding playlist.
