How Do You Organize A Kid With ADHD?
Donna Goldberg, writing for Additude magazine, says that organization is one of the hardest things that parents and teachers have to deal with when it comes to ADHD students. ADHD kids are always going, moving from one thing to another, and are, by nature, not very organized. There are several strategies that you can try to organize your kid with ADHD, whether you are the parent, the teacher or another adult in that kid’s life. Create a school schedule for a kid with ADHD that includes every class, every recess and every period of time between them. Buy a large binder with lots of room for organization, such as pockets, folders and rings for papers. Tape the schedule into the front cover of the binder so that the student can see it each day. Fill the rest of the binder with everything the kid will need, including erasers and pencils in the pockets, notepaper for scraps, folders and loose leaf paper in the binder itself.
