How Do You Open Mapsource .Img Files?
Created by Garmin, Mapsource is a mapping program that allows GPS users to create, edit and modify various types of GPS data. Since Mapsource, by default, does not open .IMG files, you must use MapSet Toolkit and Cgpsmapper to open .IMG files in Mapsource. These free applications allow you to create custom maps that are compatible with Mapsource. Opening .IMG files to Mapsource provides you with the option to importing your custom maps directly to your Garmin device. Download MapSet Toolkit by clicking on the “MapSetToolKit_v1.75.zip” link on the application’s homepage (http://cypherman1.googlepages.com/home). Select “Save File,” choose a location on your PC and then download the file. Install the application by double-clicking on the file and then following the prompts. Go to the cGPSmapper homepage (http://cgpsmapper.com/buy.htm), click on the “cGPSmapper version 0100a for Windows” link, choose “Save File” and then choose a PC location for the file. Install cGPSmapper by double-click
