An ISO is an image file which contains uncompressed files. Usually this type of file is placed on a CD to clone the CD the image was made from. However, mounting an ISO file to a CD is not the only way to open it. You can use your computer to get access to the files without burning a new disc, or, if you want to take the ISO files with you, you can mount them to a CD-rom. Open up your Web browser. Go to rarlab.com/download to get the newest version of WinRAR. Double-click the installation file and follow the instructions to install the program. Right click on the file and select “Extract Here…” from the list. WinRAR has added these options to that menu to open ISO and ZIP files. The file will become a ZIP file in the same folder as the ISO. Right click on the ZIP file which was created and select “Extract Here” again.
