International Standards Organization 9660 files, or ISO images, are file types that are utilized by CD-ROMs. ISO files work by collaborating other file types and making them readable to your CD-ROM drive so that they can be continuously displayed and utilized by your computer. In some cases, such as when you decide to upgrade your operating system, an ISO image might be downloaded instead of presented as a CD-ROM.
