When water temperatures hit 60 degrees, it is time to open your above ground pool. If you wait much longer, algae will begin to grow at a rapid rate and nobody wants to have to clear up a green pool. Most covers for above ground pools are a tarp material and have a metal cable with a wench. First, clear off any standing water and/or debris on the cover and undo the metal band. Take the cover off and clean it with soap and water. Allow it to dry. If you lowered your water level for the winter as most do then put the water hose over the edge and fill the swimming pool to about the middle of the skimmer box. The pool will probably need a vacuuming to remove the small dirt and debris that gets in during the winter. If the pool is cloudy or green, you need to take a different approach.
