You twist and you twist, but not matter how hard you try, you just can’t seem to pop the top. Here are some tips on how to open a stubborn jar. Run the lid of the jar under hot water. You may want to put on a pair of rubber gloves so that you keep your grip. Hold the jar under hot water and rotate it so that the water soaks where the lid and jar meet. Tap the ridge of the jar with the back of a spoon. Rotate the jar as you tap it. This will loosen the air-lock slightly. Grip the top of the stubborn jar with a rubber pot opener and twist with all of your might. Many times when you cook, hands become water logged or slippery from ingredients, which impedes your strength when it comes to gripping an object.
