How Do You Open A Dell AC Adapter For An Inspiron 9400?
The AC power adapter for your Inspiron provides all of the power for the computer’s battery, and most of the power in the AC cable is generated from the plastic box in the middle of the cord. This box contains all of the internal components of your adapter, and if there is a problem with the cable, this box is where you want to look. If you don’t want to purchase a new adapter you can open the adapter box to diagnose any problems or replace faulty parts. Remove the plug end of the power cable from any power source it may be connected to and then remove the adapter end from the jack in the side of your Dell Inspiron 9400. Insert the putty knife in the seam between the top and bottom halves of the adapter box. The seam will be firmly sealed, so if your putty knife isn’t strong enough you may want to try to break the seal by using the tip of a flat-head screwdriver instead. Work your way around the sides of the adapter box until the two halves separate. Remove the top half from the bottom
