How Do You Open A Bike Lock?
Learning how to open your bike lock is one of the first steps you should take after purchasing a new lock. Spend a couple minutes practicing opening it and you’ll be efficient at using it before your bike is ever locked up. Each lock features its own design and mechanism, but should operate easily. Locate the lock. Many bike locks include a built-in lock that operates via combination or key. Some chain and cable locks, however, don’t include a built-in lock and have a pair of loops at each end where you attach a separate lock. If you have the latter, you’ll need a separate lock in order to secure your bike. Use a heavy-duty combination or key lock from a reputable manufacturer. Locate your keys or set your combination. Depending upon the specific mechanism used, you’ll want to be sure that you have the appropriate equipment with you. If the lock uses keys, be sure to pack these prior to biking. If it’s a combination lock, set the combination according to the instructions and then test
