How Do You Observe Satellites With The Meade 10In LX90GPS Schmidt-Cassegrain Telescope?
Sometimes, observing man-made objects in space catches someone’s attention. Curiosity might drive you to find out what a high tech gadget looks like in outer space. If you are interested in viewing a satellite pass, follow this procedure. Go to “Object:Satellite” in the menu and select “Enter.” Using the scroll keys, browse the list of satellites and the select one by pressing “Enter.” You will see “Calculating…” and then “Tracking…” on the display. If the satellite you selected in step 2 is going to make a pass, you will see “Located” on the display. If you would like information on the satellite, use the scroll keys. You may set the alarm function, which will display after the location information. Press “Enter” at this point and AutoStar will set off an alarm 1 minute before the pass. You can still perform other observations while waiting for the alarm to sound. Once the alarm sounds, go to the satellite menu and use the scroll key until you find the correct satellite on the top
