How Do You Nominate The Teacher Of The Year?
Founded in 1952, the national Teacher of the Year program recognizes the outstanding prekindergarten through 12th-grade educator in the United States. In order to compete to be Teacher of the Year nationally, you must first be selected as your state Teacher of the Year. All 50 states, the District of Columbia, the Northern Mariana Islands, U.S. Virgin Islands, American Samoa and the Department of Defense choose a top educator from their state or area. The national Teacher of the Year, is the spokesperson for education in various national and international events for one year.
