All of the clippings will shoot into the bag and will avoid getting any grass clippings in the flower bed. If you do not have a bag to go with your lawn mower, you will need to know from which direction the lawn mower shoots debris. You will want to mow the lawn so that the debris shoots out away from the flower bed. This should be easy to do; just run the mower over a small patch of grass, leaves, or even a couple of small twigs. Make sure that people and animals are several yards away from the mower when you do this so that they do not get hit by the debris.
