How Do You Mix VPI Concentrated Record-Cleaning Solution?
When used with one of the three models of vacuum record-cleaning machines that VPI manufactures–the HW 16.5, HW 17 and Typhoon–VPI record cleaning fluid can clean old, dirty records thoroughly and restore them to pristine playability. VPI’s record-cleaning solution also can be used with other models of vacuum record-cleaning machine such as the Nitty Gritty. VPI sells a concentrated version of its record-cleaning machine fluid that you can mix at home quickly and efficiently. Pour the 1-ounce bottle of VPI concentrate into the empty, thoroughly rinsed 1-gallon container. Pour 16 ounces of isopropyl alcohol into the container with the VPI concentrate. Fill the rest of the bottle with distilled water. You are creating a solution that is 80/20 water to alcohol, with the VPI concentrate adding a cleaning base.
