It is pretty simple to make the color brown from a mixture of other colors. There is a rather wide range of low chroma colors that may be called “brown.” They can range in hue from near yellow through to burnt orange and shades of maroon. These are just a few of the colors that can be used. • Mixing the colors on the opposite sides of the color wheel will give different shades of tertiary colors brown, tan, etc., and add a little white (lighten) or black (darken).
