How Do You Miter The Inside Corner On Crown Molding?
Crown molding around the top of a room can give an elegant and finished look to the space. When installing straight across walls, there aren’t really any issues. The inside corners, however, often prove challenging because they need to be mitered to fit, or they will look fairly unattractive. Getting the angle right calls for a little preparation and thought, but is pretty easy when you master the technique. Measure and mark the crown molding leading into the corner on both walls. Take the measurement all the way into the corner. Set your miter box or saw up. Label a piece of duct or masking tape as the “wall” and another as the “ceiling.” Attach the wall label to the fence on the miter, and attach the ceiling tag to the table. It may be confusing at first, but working upside down like this really does help. Place the left-side piece of the crown molding in the miter box.
