College is an intimidating place when you first get there, especially if the school is large. The campus can seem unwieldy and the social circles can come off as too exclusive. At the beginning of every school year, almost every college has one, if not a series of, planned social events that all students are invited to. While not the most organic or spontaneous meeting grounds imaginable, they are certainly a very good place to start meeting other people.
