How do you measure the volume of an irregular object?
It the object is not too complex, you just break it down into components that you can measure, then add them up to give you the total volume. For example: To measure a house, you can measure each wing, the attic with sloping roofs, etc. And calculate the volumes of each to get the total. For something really complex, but solid and small enough to handle, you can do it empirically: Immerse it in water and measure the volume of water being displaced by the object.
