How Do You Manually Start Windows Explorer?
Windows Explorer is the backbone of the Windows operating system. On occasion Windows Explorer may become unresponsive to user commands, and if other programs seem to be working fine, it might be time to restart Windows Explorer. Restarting your computer works, but will cause you to lose any data you were working on. Manually restarting Windows Explorer helps you get running again without losing a thing. Step 1 Click the “Start” button on the taskbar. Step 2 Select “Shut Down” in Windows Vista or “Turn off your computer” in Windows XP. Step 3 Hold down the “Ctrl,” “Shift” and “Alt” keys, and click “Cancel.” This will shut down Windows Explorer. Do not use the Task Manager to shut down Windows Explorer.
