Xerosis is the medical term given to abnormally dry skin. Often times people with Xerosis will experience dry, even scaly skin. But, in most cases, Xerosis is treatable and definitely manageable. Environment is the main risk factor in Xerosis. In cooler climates, the body protects itself by drawing blood away from the skin. This results in dry skin.
