How Do You Manage Myositis?
Myositis is the swelling and/or loss of muscles. It can be caused by injury, medication, infection or exercise. There are two types of myositis: Temporary and chronic. The symptoms are muscle weakness or pain, fatigue, trouble climbing, standing, reaching or swallowing. There is no cure for myositis. Realize what your limitations are and how you can work around them. You may need to change certain activities to accommodate your affliction. Getting help from others is not always easy, but may be needed depending on how severe your condition is. Take whatever medication your doctor recommends and be sure to follow the directions. Exercise, physical therapy and rest are also good ways to help manage your myositis. Seeing your doctor regularly is the best way to maintain good health.
