How Do You Manage ADD Without Medication?
If you or someone you love has been diagnosed with ADHD (Attention Defecit Hyperactivity Disorder) there are several things that you can do to help cope without the use of medication. Avoid caffeine. Caffeine can be overstimulating and leave you feeling overwhelmed. As a general rule, you should avoid coffee and soda containing caffeine as well as chocolate as it also contains caffeine. Eat a proper diet. Avoid eating too many carbs. Get plenty of protein and Omega fatty acids. These fatty acids “feed” your brain, lubricating your neurons and helping facilitate normal brain activity. Try meditation. Focused medication can greatly reduce the amount of “noise” in your brain and can help you practice concentration.
