The theater provides a creative outlet not only for actors and actresses, but for set builders as well. The audience rarely appreciates the time and effort that goes into building all of those stage props, but they rarely complain about them either. Taking the time to construct a quality wood theater prop is something anyone can do. Review the theater needs. Ask the director to work with the set builders in concert with all other theater workers. Define the parameters of the set and what props need building. Look over the script and see if there are hints that might provide a path from which to work.
