How Do You Make Whipped Butter Rosettes?
Whipped butter rosettes are often served in restaurants, but the same concept can be easily achieved in your own kitchen. This preparation not only creates a soft texture and a pretty presentation, but also yields more butter for your buck. At your next dinner, surprise everyone with these pretty whipped rosettes. Step 1 Take 1 lb. of soft butter and cut into medium-sized cubes. Step 2 Put in a standard mixer and whip on high for 2 to 3 minutes in a circular motion. Step 3 Slowly, little by little, add 1/2 cup of room temperature water to the mixer and continue to blend on high speed for 2 more minutes, until butter is soft and fluffy. Step 4 Refrigerate for 10 to 15 minutes. Step 5 Scoop into a standard pastry piping bag with a star-shaped pastry-tip. Step 6 In 1/2-oz. amounts, squeeze out the whipped butter onto parchment paper covered baking sheets. You should create small rosettes. Step 7 Refrigerate until ready to serve. Serve on a pretty platter or serving tray.
