Iconoid 3.09 can make your desktop icon backgrounds transparent and it can also – hide your desktop icons when your cursor is not on the desktop so that you can see your desktop wallpaper, – save and restore icon positions and Hide windows quickly – it is free too and can be download at http://www.sillysot.com/iconoid.zip After installation, turn off “view my active desktop as a web page” or the active desktop feature in Display, Control Panel. Start Iconoid, color tab will have the option to turn on transparent icon text background. Hope this help.
