How Do You Make Wedding Cake Frosting?
Making wedding-cake frosting at home is easy, inexpensive, and requires only a few basic ingredients. Confectioner’s sugar, vegetable shortening and vanilla extract are combined to create a light, fluffy, and delicious frosting with an extremely white color. This recipe yields approximately five cups of frosting, but a double batch can be made if necessary. Combine 4 cups of confectioner’s sugar, 1 cup of vegetable shortening, 2 tablespoons of water and 1 tablespoon of vanilla extract in a medium-size mixing bowl. Beat the mixture with an electric mixer on low speed, just until combined. At this point, the frosting will be very thin. Turn the speed to medium and beat for an additional five minutes. The frosting should be light and fluffy after beating. Add 3 tablespoons of corn syrup to the wedding-cake frosting.
