When you create a web page, you want to make it visually appealing. Graphics play a large role in this, and in particular, the website banner, which appears at the top of the page. One way to create an effective banner is to add a background picture to it. You might think that to create a banner like this you need the help of a graphic artist or access to an expensive graphics program such as Photoshop. But by downloading the freeware application GIMP, you can create this type of banner yourself. Sketch out your ideas for the banner on paper.
