You can make wavy or zigzag lines in Illustrator. These instructions apply to Adobe Illustrator 8. Procedures for other versions may vary. Open a file. Draw a line with one of the drawing tools. Be sure that it is not a closed path. Select the line with the selection tool. Choose Zigzag under Distort in the Filters menu. A pop-up window appears. Select Smooth Anchor Points for a wavy line and Corner Anchor Points for a zigzag line. Click OK.
