Designing and making a wall hanging with remnant pieces of fabric can be a challenging and entertaining project. It’s also an excellent way to create a work of art incorporating a blend of different fabric textures and colors that encourages “touch and feel.” It also features embellishments such as buttons, ribbons, fabric images, beads and other details that enhance the overall product. A project that appeals to both adults and children, it requires no prior art experience. Choose a theme for the basis of the wall hanging such as garden, seascape, animals or children. This will help with choosing fabric colors. Pick out assorted fabric remnants that may be used for this project. Choose more than may be used. Lay aside. Lay the piece of muslin flat on an ironing board, right side down. Fold one end (top or bottom) 2 inches and iron. Secure the flap to the main body with white glue along the edge.
