How Do You Make Venison Pepper Steak?
Venison turns out tender and delicious with this easy crock pot recipe for venison pepper steak. Enjoy! Ingredients: 1/2 cup solid shortening 1/2 cup flour 3/4 teaspoon salt 1/4 teaspoon pepper 2 pounds venison steak, cut into thin strips 1 can stewed tomatoes 2 cups water 3/4 cup chopped onion 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder 2 beef bouillon cubes 3 green peppers cut into strips 2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce hot cooked rice Melt shortening in a large skillet. Meanwhile, in a small bowl combine flour, salt and pepper. Roll venison in flour mixture. Brown venison in hot shortening. Drain liquid from stewed tomatoes, add to meat. Mix in water, onion, garlic powder and bouillon cubes. Cover and simmer 2 1/2 to 3 hours. Uncover. Stir in Worcestershire sauce and add pepper strips. Cover and cook 15 to 20 minutes longer. Add the tomatoes, cook 10 minutes longer. Serve over hot cooked rice.
