How Do You Make Vegan Chocolate Frosting?
It can be hard to find vegan alternatives to common foods, but this frosting is an exception! I think that this frosting is as good or better than anything you can buy prepackaged at the store. And the best part? It’s easy to make and even somewhat healthy! Get the vegan margarine out of the refrigerator in advance, it works better if your margarine is soft. While you can use any liquid sweetener, I like to use agave nectar because its low glycemic index helps keep your blood sugar stable. In a blender, or food processor, combine the cocoa powder, margarine, vanilla and vegan sweetener. Blend until smooth. It is possible to mix the frosting with a hand mixer, but make sure the vegan margarine is very soft or else it will take a long time to get all the lumps out. Enjoy! This recipe makes enough frosting to frost a whole cake. I made it for cupcakes and had a lot of extra frosting left over.
