• Put the marshmallows in a microwave safe bowl, add the water, and microwave on high for 1 minute. • Stir mixture, and microwave for another minute. • Take the marshmallow mixture out of the microwave. • Stir again, scraping the sides with a scraper. Careful: the marshmallow mixture is hot! • Add the chocolate chips, and stir until the chips are completely melted. • Add the Karo syrup and stir again, this time with a butter knife, until all of the syrup is incorporated. • Add 1-2 tsp. of black gel food coloring, and stir again with the knife. Make sure to scrape around the edges. • Add about half of the bag of powdered sugar, once the mixture is the blackest black that you can get. • Stir with the knife until the mixture is thick. • Grease your hands liberally with Crisco and add the rest of the powdered sugar to the bowl. Knead the fondant until all of the powdered sugar is gone.
