How Do You Make Traditional Christmas Pudding?
Read any traditional Christmas story or watch one of those time tested classics and you will see Christmas Pudding as the highlight of the holiday event. So I present to you the recipe for traditional Christmas pudding. Soak 12 oz of sultanas also called white grape raisins, 4 oz Glace’ or Candied cherries, 8 oz raisins, 4 oz mixed peel in water until soft. The mixed peel should be a combination of citrus peel like oranges, lemons, limes, grapefruit, even apple peel. The better blend you use the more flavor your pudding will have. In a mixing bowl combine ½ cup brown sugar “I prefer to use dark brown”, 8 oz suet, 1 cup flour, 2 cups bread crumbs, pinch of salt, pinch of cinnamon, and a pinch of mixed spices and mix until it is the consistency of breadcrumbs. Add soaked fruit and stir in 4 beaten eggs. Then add Guinness or a stout beer of your choice. Mix well and pour mix into pudding bowls. Cover with foil and tie down with string steam pudding 4-5 hours. Remove from water serve immed
