How Do You Make Traditional Chocolate Fudge?
Every holiday season, it was traditional for Grandmother to make her famous fudge. It was the highlight of the family and great neighbor holiday gifts. I’ve tried over the years to follow the tradition she set. Today I have found short cuts to her famous recipes, like grating the butter instead of dropping cubes into the mixture. Happy Holiday! Mix together in a double boiler, sugar, butter and milk, cook for 10 minutes on a low heat. Mix in chocolate chips and milk chocolate bars bits slowly until melted completely. Continue to stir on a low heat. Cut the marshmallows in to small pieces and slowly fold into the chocolate mixture. Stir until completely melted. Fold in nuts, vanilla, salt and beat until creamy. Remove from heat. Pour into buttered pan and allow fudge to set at room temperature for an hour. Cover with Saran wrap and refrigerate overnight before cutting and serving.
