You’ve tried the rest—now make the best! The World’s Best Chocolate Chip Cookies recipe was given to me ten years ago by my mother-in-law, Jo Ann Robinson. These cookies are delicious and they freeze well. If you’re feeling crazy, replace the chocolate chips with M&Ms mini-baking chips for a colorfully, yummy creation. Preheat your oven to 375 degrees. Gather all of the needed ingredients and get ready to bake! Cream the shortening, sugar and brown sugar with an electric mixer. Beat in the egg. Add the vanilla. Mix thoroughly. Add the flour, baking soda, and salt to the mixing bowl. Make sure it is well combined. Add the chocolate chips and stir them into the mixture by hand (a wooden spoon works well). Form the dough into golf ball sized pieces and place about two inches apart on ungreased baking sheets. Bake the cookies for 10 minutes in the preheated oven. The cookies don’t look quite “done,” but they are. Arrange artfully on a glass plate or eat them directly from the pan.
