How Do You Make The Perfect Mai Tai?
This drink is hard to get perfect. You’ll want to practice a few times before serving it to your friends but the practice can be fun too! We are making two Mai Tais because no one wants to drink alone. First Juice the two limes, you should be able to get an ounce and a half of juice from two limes. If you cant go get better limes. Set the juice aside Fill a shaker with ice. Add two ounces of dark rum to the shaker. Dark rum is not whiskey colored it is coffee colored. Myer’s dark rum is a good example. Lots of brands sell a “dark” rum but this is really just red rum and is great for most cocktails just not this one. Get the real thing. Add two ounces of light rum to the shaker. Any light rum will do but obviously better quality makes better flavor. I use Don Q Cristal as my light rum it’s no more expensive than Bacardi but can be hard to find. Add one ounce of Orange curacao. Add one ounce of Orgeat Syrup. This might be hard to find, if your grocery doesn’t carry it try a liquor store
